After 12 years as an Advertising Account Manager, I retrained with The Open University and Greenwich University to become a teacher.
I have been a primary teacher for 22 years, the last ten years as a member of SLT. Primary Maths teaching has been an area of interest throughout my career and much of my professional development has been in this area.
In 2018, I began training as a Mastery Maths Specialist with the NCETM. During this time, I was lucky enough to join the teacher exchange to Shanghai, to observe and work with the Chinese Maths’ teachers who excelled in their subject.
The following year I completed my Professional Development accreditation course and began leading Maths’ hubs across London and the South-east supporting schools to develop their curriculum and raise standards in Maths. In the same year I achieved my NPQH, which enabled me to develop leadership skills which enhanced my ability to support other schools to achieve successful and sustainable change.
