Havering Primary Teaching School Alliance

Vision

The Havering Primary Teaching School Alliance (HPTSA) believes that our work should aim to ensure that:

  • no child’s future is limited by their socio-economic background
  • pupils within our Alliance will be reading confidently by the age of 6
  • we will work to improve outcomes for all children in the Alliance by collaborating with other institutions and communities
Key Schools

Designated by the National College in 2016, the HPTSA is centred around Broadford Primary school - in Harold Hill, Romford. Broadford is a 3FE primary, which was graded as Outstanding by Ofsted in 2014. Broadford is part of The Learning Federation alongside its partner school Mead Primary. Lead members of the Teaching School are drawn from both schools, where standards are typically significantly above the national average for KS2 outcomes. The Executive Headteacher of the federation - Malcolm Drakes - was designated as a National Leader of Education in July 2017.
